Our Story
Y.O.L.O Tengo Vintage was born from a lifelong love of fashion, history, and the belief that every garment deserves another chapter.
As a little girl, I was captivated by the glamour of old Hollywood. I watched My Fair Lady, Gone with the Wind, and What a Way to Go! Mesmerized by the exquisite costume design. Those films sparked an early fascination with silhouettes, textiles, and the artistry behind clothing.
As my passion grew, I chose to study fashion marketing, clothing construction, and design. Learning how garments are made deepened my appreciation for quality craftsmanship and the thoughtful details that make vintage pieces so special. Understanding both the creative and business sides of fashion shaped the way I curate every collection today.
My appreciation for craftsmanship was further inspired by my travels to Mexico City and San Miguel de Allende. Exploring colorful markets, artisan workshops, and historic streets, I fell in love with the richness of Mexican artistry. The vibrant textiles, intricate embroidery, handwoven fabrics, and generations of craftsmanship left a lasting impression on me. Those experiences continue to inspire my collections, especially my love for vintage Mexican textiles and pieces that celebrate heritage, artistry, and tradition.
Before founding Y.O.L.O Tengo Vintage, I spent many years as a store manager at a local resale shop, where I developed an eye for quality, timeless design, and the stories hidden within well-loved garments. When I became a mother, I stepped away from my career to focus on raising my son. It was one of the greatest gifts of my life, but I also realized how much I missed working with clothing and connecting people with pieces that made them feel confident and inspired.
In 2022, I decided to take a chance. I packed up pieces from my personal vintage collection and set up at a local flea market, simply hoping to share what I loved with others. What began as one small rack, grew into Y.O.L.O Tengo Vintage.
Today, Y.O.L.O Tengo Vintage is more than a vintage shop. It is a reflection of everything that has shaped me. My love of fashion history, my education, my professional experience, my Mexican heritage, and my belief in sustainable fashion. I thoughtfully curate vintage clothing, accessories, vintage Mexican textiles, and carefully selected upcycled pieces that honor the beauty of the past while giving them new life.
My hope is that every piece you bring home carries more than style. I hope it carries a story, celebrates the hands that created it, and inspires you to write the next chapter.
